Development Centres for Boys

p>All players attending The Berkshire Academy will have attended the development centre programme. Each development centre will run for 6 sessions, in separate age groups normally of 2 hour duration where a structured programme of coaching on key core skills will be given as modules to all age groups. Assessment will be continuous by different coaches and will form the basis of invitation to the higher academy level. We anticipate attendance being limited to around 30 players but where necessary will increase the coaching resource accommodate any small variation in excess of this number.

Age groups will be determined in accordance with England Hockey guidance on a year of birth basis. i.e. Boys Under 17 will be for girls born in the year 1993.

Goalkeepers will have 3 intensive specialist coaching sessions working with all the other County goalkeepers and a final session with the outfield players while they practice shooting.
